Carolyn Maxwell Wheeler

Carolyn Maxwell Wheeler passed away Friday, December 17, 2021. She was born in Taccoa, Georgia to William Charles Maxwell and Edith Black Maxwell on September 28, 1931. She is survived by her daughter Christine (George) Distler, her grandchildren, Angela (Marc) Bateson-Halualani, and Patrick (Amy) Bateson. She also has 7 great grandchildren, Bradley, Evan, Olivia, Brandon, Niki, Nicholas, and Thomas. Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bobby Paul Wheeler, and her parents. Carolyn and Bobby were founding members of Heritage Baptist Church in Douglasville, where she helped adults learn to read in her spare time. She worked as a bookkeeper/admin up until she was 75. She enjoyed her family, had a busy social life and stayed active with her great grandchildren, helping the PTA with school functions and attending their sporting events. Carolyn was a talented artist as well. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
