William “Scott” Vogt, age 48, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at Tranquility Hospice after a battle with liver cancer. Scott is survived by his father Gary Vogt of Ridgley, MD and his mother Cathy Salhany of Savannah, GA.He has two children, Natalie Maria and William Grant, both living in the Atlanta area.Scott lived with his sister Judi Vogt Tompkins and her husband Randy in Marietta, GA during his illness. He has one grandchild, Luna “Lulu” Aurora Jones. Scott is a U.S. Air Force veteran of Operation Desert Shield / Storm where he earned several medals including the Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.He grew up in Collegedale, TN.It was there that he began to cultivate his hard work ethic.At the time of his death he was employed as a long-haul truck driver for Big G Express. He loved the Atlanta Braves, NASCAR and the Alabama Crimson Tide.He loved being outside and hunting and fishing.Really, he loved anything others might consider “redneck.”But more than anything he loved his family and spending time with his friends.According to his best buddies, “Scott was the funniest son-of-a-gun you’d ever meet.”
