Wanda Graves Herndon, 84 of Austell, passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Steve Herndon; children, Maria (Earl) Blankenship of Virginia, Jessie Robinson, Jr., of Washington, Teresa (Dale) Crouch of Virginia and Keith Herndon of Powder Springs; siblings, Rachel (Leslie) Florida of Michigan, Ray Graves of New York, Ernie (Carol) Graves of South Carolina, and Glenda (Ken) Henegar of Florida; five grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, with 2 more on the way. Mrs. Herndon worked as a Walmart cashier for many years. She enjoyed her job and talking with the customers; most of the time she would be at the store shopping on her days off.She was always busy, saying she didn’t need much sleep. She liked taking care of everyone else and didn’t like taking time for herself. If she finally took a break to relax she enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. An all-around sweet woman, patient and caring, Mrs. Herndon was down to earth and easy going. She loved the Lord and attended church until her health declined and that was no longer possible. She loved her husband and family and was loved by them. She will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, January 2, at Roy Davis Funeral Home and on Monday, January 3, from 12 to 1 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 3. Burial will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs.
