Vernon Leroy Smith

Mr. Vernon Leroy Smith, age 88, of Marietta, formerly of Mableton, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011.He is survived by his sons, Don Smith of Lithia Springs, Larry Smith of Elberton; daughter, Linda McPherson of Ocala, FL; sister, Kathryn Mabrey of Atlanta; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Gladys Fountain Smith and daughter, Sharon Kay Smith. Mr. Smith was a Lockheed supervisor, enjoyed golf, fishing and was also a United States Navy Veteran. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.Funeral service will be held Friday 2:00 pm at Roy Davis Funeral Home with Rev Kent Hawkins and Rev. Hubert Prewett officiating.Interment, Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
