Mr. Thomas Madison Word, age 90, of Austell, Georgia passed away on April 6, 2017.Mr. Word, a life-long resident of Georgia, was born in Tyus, Georgia to Rufus and Viola Word.A decorated veteran, he proudly served in the U.S. Army.Mr. Word was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed fishing and working in his yard—but his passion was his family.He never missed a ballgame for his children and was a devoted husband to Edna.Mr. Word is preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Edna Mae.He leaves to cherish his loving memory, three children, Tim Word, Melinda Word, and Maxine Word. The family invites you to join them for a graveside service with Military Honors on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 2:00pm at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville.Pastor Eddie Barton will officiate.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
