Shirley Love Sparnell

Shirley Love Sparnell of Smyrna, GA passed away on May 1, 2021 at the age of 85. Shirley was a dedicated and nurturing daughter, sister, wife and mother to family. Shirley was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Shirley loved school and creating lifelong friendships during her time at Spartanburg High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Jack Sparnell. They had 4 children, a daughter and three sons. Shirley worked for over 20 years in the Rich’s/Macys shoe department creating another group of lifelong friends. Shirley loved to travel and was a charter member of the Leftovers Motorcycle Club which she considered family. Over the course of 28 years, Shirley and Jack rode their touring bike through 49 states with their friends. Shirley loved to read and was a member of several book clubs. She enjoyed singing with the choir at Central Baptist Church and Green Acres Baptist Church. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Jack Sparnell, her father William Leonard Love and her mother Bertie Love, her son Jack (Chip) Sparnell Jr, her brothers William Leonard Love Jr, Donald Love and sisters Edith Trail, Peggy Garrett. She is survived by 3 children Leslie (Steven) Albert, Richard (Barbara) Sparnell, Jeff (Pamela) Sparnell. Proud grandmother to Stephanie (Jonathan) Clarke, Stewart (Melissa) Albert, Britanni (Nathaniel) Roden, Casey Sparnell, Charles (Sawyer) Sparnell, Parker Sparnell. Loving great grandmother to AJ, Ty and Ayden Roden, Hudson and Weston Clarke, and her brother Robert Lester (Judy) Love. Shirley was also loved by her many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation is made to Central Baptist Church Building Fund at 1502 S. Cobb Dr. Marietta, Ga 30060 The family would like to thank Affinity Hospice and her personal caretakers Maria Nava, Ruby Love, and Sheila Ackey for their love and patience. Shirley will be laid to rest at Georgia Memorial Gardens in Marietta, GA.
