With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Elizabeth Anderson, a beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother and cherished friend, who peacefully departed this life on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the age of 81. Shirley was a long-time resident of Austell, Georgia, where she touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.
Born on April 5, 1943, Shirley was the daughter of the late Leonard and Stella Rutledge. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Ray Anderson, with whom she shared "30" wonderful years.
Shirley is survived by her loving daughters, Melinda Brown and Kim Ledford, who will carry forward her legacy of love and compassion. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. Shirley also leaves behind several other family members and countless friends who will miss her dearly.
Throughout her life, Shirley found fulfillment in her work as a cashier at Lowes, where she was known for her friendly demeanor and dedication to her job. Outside of work, she had a passion for gardening, a love for cats, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid fan of old game shows and could often be found immersed in word searches, a pastime she cherished.
Shirley's family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Roy Davis Funeral Home, a chapel service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with interment at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
In remembrance of Shirley, her family asks that you take a moment to reflect on the joy and love she brought into the world and to honor her memory by cherishing the time spent with loved ones.
Shirley's gentle spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
