Sara Jan Swanson

Jan Swanson of Austell passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 She was born in Sarasota, Florida to Harold and Myrtle Parris on August 9, 1957. Jan was a foster parent with Cobb county DFCS, she participated at the Cobb Children’s Theater, and retired from Cobb county school system. She is survived by her husband of 44 years Bruce Swanson, her children: Mindy and her husband Zackery Alexander, Dustin and his wife Heather Swanson, Joshua Swanson, Jacob Swanson, Luke Swanson, and Eve Swanson. Her sister and brother in law Cathy and Bill Self. Jan had eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Barbara Leugers. Jan loved children and had big heart for helping others. A loving mother and wife who is in our hearts forever and always to the moon and back! A memorial service will be held at Hurt Rd Baptist Church on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 2:00 pm.
