Roy Clinton Zimmer

Roy C. Zimmer, age 92 of Lithia Springs, Georgia died Sunday, May 13, 2012.A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, he was born in 1920 to the late William F. Zimmer and Margaret Zimmer.He was number seven in a family of eight children.He was one of four brothers. He served four years in military service for the US in WWII.He was discharged after the war ended as a First Lt in the Medical Adm Corp (A Mash Unit); followed by six years of reserve service.His main career was with IBM for many years until retirement, after which he operated a Tax Service business here in Georgia.Roy is survived by his wife, Ingeborg Zimmer of Lithia Springs; son, Stephen Karl Zimmer of Cedartown; daughter, Sarah Jane Sauer of Colchester, CT; stepson, Ernest Geyer, of Atlanta, Christain Luxardo of Atlanta; grandson, Stephen K. Zimmer Jr of Canada; granddaughters, Christine Mary Kelly of Quincy, MA, Lauren Deborah Sauer of Connecticut; step-granddaughter, Natalie Moss; great grandson, Ryan Donlin Kelly of Quincy, MA. Mr. Zimmer was a longtime member of Lithia Springs United Methodist Church and a Gideon for many years.He was preceded in death by his former wife, Christine Kelly Zimmer.In accordance with his wishes, his cremated remains will be buried in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY.
