Robert W. Dean

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Wayne Dean, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this life on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the age of 63. Robert was a cherished resident of Smyrna, Georgia, and was born in Alexander City, Alabama, on August 18, 1961.

Robert was a dedicated and compassionate Funeral Director. His ministry was funeral service, and he was deeply committed to providing comfort and support to families during their times of need. He served the community for over 30 years, serving families at Castellaw Funeral Home in Smyrna, Georgia since 1994. Robert was a 1988 alumnus of Gupton Jones Mortuary College, where he honed his skills and passion for his life's work. He was a caring, and generous friend, a mentor to many, and never letting his blindness stop him from living a full life.

Throughout his career, Robert was a former member of Smyrna Church of Christ, the Lions Club and Kiwanis organizations that reflected his commitment to service and community involvement. His kindness, professionalism, and dedication left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Robert is survived by his mother, Geraldine Milstead, William Winters, a devoted partner and caregiver for 16 years, his brother, and a lifelong friend Karon Beasley, as well as several nieces, nephews, an aunt, and an uncle. He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, and an aunt.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Roy Davis Funeral Home, where friends and family will gather to celebrate Robert's life and legacy.

Robert Wayne Dean will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his profession, his warm heart, and his gentle spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
