Robert Lee Cox

Robert Lee Cox, Sr., 71, of Rockmart and long-time Austell resident passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Floyd Medical Center in Rome. Mr. Cox was born December 19, 1947 in Atlanta, son of the late, Edward Eugene Cox, Sr. and Jerold Dean Turner Cox. He had lived in Austell most of his life and was a Mechanic by trade. Mr. Cox was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War Era. Survivors include his wife, Annie Cox of Rockmart; children, Cynthia Lynn Cox Hurst of Crystal Beach, TX, Glenn Wayne Cox of Woodstock, Robert Lee Cox of Dallas, and Step-Daughter Regina of Texas; Siblings, Jeanette Harp, Betty Keith, Doris Rolloff, Walter Cox, and Robert Lee Carlyle; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Lewis Cox and Frances Coons. The family will gather at Roy Davis Funeral Home to receive friends on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services for Robert Lee Cox, Sr. will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 in the chapel of Roy Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Smith officiating.
