Richard Williams, 67 of Powder Springs, passed away surrounded by his family at home on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 42 wonderful years, Cindy Williams of Powder Springs; daughter, Stephine Ruocchio of Mableton; grandchildren, Haley Ruocchio & Adam Sanders of Douglasville, Allissa & Matt Bailey of Temple and Brandon Ruocchio of Mableton; great grandchildren, Grayson Sanders and Layla Sanders, both of Douglasville, and Kensley Bailey of Temple, and many other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Marie & John Thomas of Mableton; daughter, Veronica Williams and son, Richard “Ricky” Williams, Jr. Paw Paw to his kids, grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews, his face would light up when he saw them, and they were always excited to see him. His favorite saying was “I love you sugar.” He truly loved his family and was loved by everyone. He loved his mother-in-law, Aline, like his own mother. Richard retired from Taylor Transportation of Cartersville in May, 2020. He enjoyed being an over the road truck driver and Cindy was able to travel with him across the country during his last year of work.He was a hard worker, liked working with wood and built many things over the years, including a cradle for their son. His family brags about the delicious apple pie, dressing and “a mean fruitcake” he could make. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm Friday, May 28, at Roy Davis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 29, at the funeral home, with Pastor James Cowen officiating and music by The Cunninghams. Brandon Roucchio will serve as honorary pallbearer. Other pallbearers will be Michael Roucchio, Johnny Gilmer, John Siebert,John Tracy, Dale Mushak and Matt Bailey. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville.
