Richard Beaver

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Durwood Beaver, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Richard passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14th, 2024, at the age of 88.

Richard was born on Tuesday, October 6th, 1936, in Georgia. He was the cherished son of the late Benjamin and Mary Beaver. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Freddie and Johnny Beaver.

Richard was a devoted husband to his wife of 40 years Lucy Beaver, and a loving father to his children: Teresa (Patrick) Proud of Mt. Juliet, TN; Angela (Ray) Fox of Austell, GA; DeWayne (Darlene) Burton of Villa Rica, GA; and Tiffany (Justin) Walraven of Dalton, GA. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and a great-grandfather to thirteen great-grandchildren. Richard is also survived by his sisters, Margaret Rozier, Doris Anderson, Martha Jane Lavigne, and Mary Faye Mullis, along with several other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Richard spent his career as a dedicated truck driver, a profession he took great pride in. Outside of work, he was an avid golfer and a passionate fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. Richard was also a committed member of the Shriners and the Masons, organizations that were close to his heart.

Richard's life was a testament to his love for his family, his community, and his interests. His warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.

His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will be deeply missed by all.
