Novis Gazaway of Mableton passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021, one day before her 87th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Charles V. Gazaway, and her son, David Gazaway. She is survived by her children, Deborah (David) Gamblin, Dana (Wendy) Gazaway, Douglas (Vicki) Gazaway, Dawn (Del) Groves and Dianne (Chuck) Martin; daughter-in-law, Kathy Gazaway; brothers and sisters, Travis Sheppard, Kenneth Sheppard, Dianne Sego and Elaine Clark; 24 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceasing their Nana: Lacey Gazaway, Jensen Rainey-Gamblin, and Douglas Bass. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Mattie Sheppard, and brothers and sisters, Harlin Sheppard, Deltie Sheppard, Marlene Moon, Wayne Sheppard and Jerry Sheppard. Mrs. Gazaway shared her love for children as a childcare provider. She enjoyed sewing and also worked as a seamstress. Her hobbies included crafting, camping and fishing. She was a member of Floyd Road Baptist Church and loved going to church and reading her Bible. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, December 2, at Roy Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until service time. Burial will be Friday, December 3, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
