Nell Dailey Lee was born premature at her parent’s home on Dill Avenue in Fulton County, GA on March 19, 1928. Her father Glenn H. Dailey worked for the U.S. Postal Service and her mother, Maino Willoughby Dailey had been a schoolteacher. Throughout Nell’s life there were many health obstacles, but she was always courageous and managed to pull through. One of Nell’s enjoyments in life was her passion for gardening. She had a beautiful field of irises and daylilies near her home at the corners of Clay Road and Floyd Road in Mableton, which is now the site of the South Cobb Regional Library. She was an active and charter member of the Covered Bridge Garden Club, where she was program chair. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. Nell was a lady of deep faith and was a lifelong member of Mableton First Baptist Church. She taught several age groups and chaired the Communion Committee. She met the love of her life, Jake Lee, at MFBC. They were married for 74 years. Nell and Jake were a team. If you saw one of them, you usually saw the other. Nell is preceded in death by her loving husband Joe Thomas “Jake” Lee, her parents Maino and Glenn Dailey, brother James R. Dailey and nephew Allan Dailey. She is survived by her sons, Victor Lee and Terry Lee, daughter Nancy Lee Evans (Kelvin), grandchildren Keri Musgrave (Gabe), Lee Evans (Donna), Lacy Jo Lee, Trent Evans (Ansley), Nathan Lee ( Cayla), Ethan Lee, 10 great- grandchildren and one great- great- granddaughter. She is also survived by her nephews, Doug Dailey (Susan) and Scott Dailey (Carla), and many cousins. A graveside service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Barber Cemetery on Church Street, Mableton, GA with David B. York officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mableton First Baptist Church or Cobb WellStar Tranquility Hospice.
