E. Nadine (Dreese) Bertenshaw E. (Emma) Nadine Dreese was born on October 30, 1918 to Charles Russell Dreese and Lulie Carrie (Lee) Dreese.She grew up in Kansas City, MO, and the Lee farm in Harrington, KS.She was preceded in death by her mother Lulie Carrie (Lee) Dreese, her father Charles Russell Dreese, her brother, Charles Winfield Dreese and her beloved husband Bud (Allen) Bertenshaw, Sr. She graduated high school in 1936 and went on to business school. In the early ‘40’s, while on a convention trip to Chicago, IL, she met Allen (Bud) Everett Bertenshaw in Grant Park.Bud and Nadine were married on February 28th, 1942, and were together for 59 years, until Bud passed in May of 2001.After a 20 plus year career as a Emergency Room Admitting Clerk and a Medical Transcriptionist, she retired from St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, IL in 1983. In August 1988 Nadine and Bud moved from their Park Forest, IL home of 20 years, to Lithia Springs Georgia, where she lived until early 2012.She spent her last few months at Douglasville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Nadine is survived by four children; Charles Allen of Lithia Springs, GA, Allen Everett Jr., of Lawrenceburg, IN,Nadine Lou, of St. Augustine, FL, and Ralph Robert of Dallas, GA as well as 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Nadine has been an affirmed Christian since the ‘70’s and we know that after reaching the ripe-old-age of 93, she is now resting in the comfort of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Nadine’s first love was her family.She loved going to church.She was also an avid animal lover and was very fond of plants and flowers.She always had a smile and friendly ‘Hello’ for anyone she met and was known for her sweet disposition.She was much loved and will be dearly missed.
