Michael Edward Basham

Michael Edward Basham, age 59, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia. Michael was born in Boston, Maryland to the later Mr. Arnold Lee Basham & Marie Elaine Ash. Michael enjoyed working on heavy equipment and had a successful career as a diesel mechanic for 30 years. He was an avid knife collector, and NASCAR fan, - team Earnhardt Sr all the way. Michael loved his family and took great pride in them; he also loved his church New Vision Baptist. Michael is survived by his wife of 31 years Mary Elizabeth Basham, son, Daniel (Star) Joiner, Mary Musgrave, Billy Simpson, Kristen Simpson, Haley Simpson, Katlin Simpson, and Jessica (Kavron) Fausnight. Grandchildren; Abigail Joiner, Kameron Joiner, Jazmine Musgrave, Aniya Musgrave, Michael Basham, Kolton Joiner, and Kanlee Fausnight. He also leaves behind sisters; Michele Ash Julian, Elaina Ash, Cindy Orr – Smith, and Nancy Rainey. The family will hold a memorial service on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 5:00 PM at New Vision Baptist Church. They will welcome friends from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
