Melvin Dean Davis

Melvin D. Davis Sr., age 75, of Bowdon, Georgia passed away peacefully on December 1, 2020. He was born October 10, 1945 in Gadson, Alabama to the late Mr. Boyce and Amanda Cambron Davis. Melvin was a 20-year retired Army Veteran to include being a Vietnam Veteran with many accomplishments and awards.After retiring from the military, he continued working as a OTR truck driver. Melvin loved working on his projects and spending time with his kids especially grand kids and great grand kids. He has been a member of his church congregation for 5 years and was becoming a Deacon of Mt. Zion Congregational Holiness Church. Melvin is survived by his wife of 48 years Rose Davis, 3 Kids, Phyllis Davis of Bowdon, GA., Dean Davis of Douglasville, GA., James Davis of Stockbridge, GA., 10 Grandkids Amanda Koontz of Augusta, GA., Devin Baggett of Carrollton, GA., Dakota Davis of Douglasville, GA., Noah Davis of New Jersey, Ashton Davis of Savannah, GA., Sidney Davis of Savannah, GA., Rae Davis of Dallas, GA., Kynedi Davis of Dallas, GA., Darrien Mauldin of Stockbridge, GA., Nate Mauldin of Stockbridge, GA., 4 Great Grandkids, and several nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM,and Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Roy Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 2:45 PM.
