Maureen Price Collar

Mrs. Maureen Frances Price Collar, 49, of Acworth, Ga., formerly of Austell, Ga., passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010, following a brief illness. Mrs. Collar was a social studies teacher at her alma mater, South Cobb High School, for more than 26 years. She was a 1982 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Georgia and earned a master’s degree in education from Georgia State University. She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, William F. Collar II; and was the proud mother of three children: William, 21; Phillip, 18; and Claire, 17. The daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mary Reagan Price of Austell, she will be greatly missed by her extended family and those she has left behind, including five sisters: Eileen Wyatt of Austell, Kathleen Fambrough of Mableton, Sheila Price-Jones of Austell, Monica Price Baxter of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Jeanne Tutwiler of Marietta; four brothers: Dr. Thomas W. Price of Macon, James R. Price of Austell, David E. Price of Cornelia, and the late Joseph J. Price of Austell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Roy Davis Funeral Home in Austell, Ga., from 4-7 p.m., Friday, March 5; and from 4-5 p.m., Saturday, March 6. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, at Roy Davis Funeral Home.
