Mary Dean McLane, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on September 19th, 1936, in Austell, GA, Mary was a cherished resident of Powder Springs, GA, where she lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community. Mary was the daughter of the late William Leon House and Hazel House and was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Gerald House. She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Roy Lee McLane Sr., and her loving sons, Chip Weathington and Chuck Weathington. Mary was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and a doting great-grandmother to seventeen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. A graduate of cosmetology school, Mary was a talented beautician who spent many years making the residents of Austell look and feel their best. Her passion for doing hair was matched only by her love for cooking, a skill she shared generously with her family and friends. Mary found great joy in her hobbies, which included tending to her plants and flower garden and maintaining a beautiful fishpond in her yard. She also cherished the time spent traveling with her husband, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary's life at a visitation on Sunday, October 6th, 2024, from 1-3 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3 PM at Roy Davis Funeral Home. Arrangements have been provided by Roy Davis Funeral Home. Mary Dean McLane will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the love she shared with everyone she met. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories of her vibrant spirit and unwavering love.
