Mary Jane Lavender

Mrs. Mary Jane Cochran Lavender age 95, of Marietta, GA, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023, in Kennesaw, GA.

Mrs. Lavender was born on May 1, 1928, in Atlanta, GA, to her parents, the late Mr. William Stanley Cochran and the late Mrs. Lucy Kirkland Cochran.

Mrs. Lavender worked for many years as an artist and loved teaching many the techniques of art. She was a very loving and caring person, who loved her family immensely and loved spending time with them. She even made everyone not her family feel as if they were her family. She was very eccentric and resilient in nature. She would meet the love of her life and the one that would become her husband at a young age just before he left for the war. Once he returned, together they built a beautiful life together enjoying traveling out west, pottery and even owning their own Indian jewelry store and collecting many Indian jewelry pieces.

Mrs. Lavender will be dearly missed by her many friends and loved ones.

She is survived by her children; Jeff Lavender and his wife Ann, Clarie Jordan and her husband Sam, Beth Silver and her husband Garry, her brother; Dale Cochran, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, other friends, and relatives also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of many years Earl Gilbert Lavender and her brother Stan Cochran.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga.

Mrs. Lavenders family will be receiving friends on Sunday December 10, 2023, from 2-5 PM.
