Mary Stanistreet Creasy, 72, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at WellStar Cobb Tranquility Hospice in Austell, GA.Mary Louise was born December 26, 1943 to John and Mary (Williamson) Stanistreet. She was the first born with only one sibling, Martha Lee who was six years younger.Both girls were born in Daytona Beach, FL. Mary graduated from Mainland High School in 1961 and Trevecca Nazarene College in 1965. She married Charles Frederick Creasy in 1967 at Marietta First Church of The Nazarene. She was blessed to become Mom to Scott and Donna. Mary and Fred lived 30 years in Marietta where she taught at various schools, Richard B. Russell and East Valley Elementary, J. J. Daniell and Mabry Middle Schools. She retired in 1995 completing 30 years of teaching. Her love for WORDS and communicating with others was shown in her teaching and lifestyle. The Creasys lived in Daytona Beach from 1997-2010, where Mary facilitated two special groups -- MHS Class of 1961 Buccaneer “Buc Girls” and a Caregivers support group. Both of these groups grew from a small circle of people to include many wonderful folks. Mary considered herself the facilitator who simply loved getting people together. This was one way Mary lived her deep felt Christian values. Mary and Fred returned to Georgia and lived in Hiram since 2010. One of Mary’s greatest pleasures was bringing people together for an April 13, 2013 Creasy Family Reunion. Fred passed away in 2014.Mary soon was diagnosed with MDS which led to Acute Myeloid Leukemia in the last months of her life. Mary treasured a final trip to Daytona Beach, to gather with many dear friends and spend time with Donna and Martha. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Charles F. Creasy.She is survived by her sister, Martha Sanford; son, Scott (Doris) Creasy; daughter, Donna (Shep) Tuller; granddaughters, Valorie Kay (Andy) Coffey, Julie Ann (Russ) Davis; great-grandsons, Jacob and Isaac Davis; cousins Ron and Diane Williamson; and cherished “sisters” Benita Bullion and Lorenda Ashayeri.
