Margaret “Louann” Lamb

Margaret “Louann” Lamb passed peacefully from this life into eternal glory with Jesus on the morning of Sunday, December 24th.

Louann was born daughter of Lee Floyd Green and Musa Lounette Smith Green in Atlanta, Georgia on September 10, 1931. Known as Momma, Memaw, and Blessed, Louann was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Major Davis Lamb, daughter, Janet Elaine Lamb, and beloved Pomeranian, Mikey.

Louann is survived by her daughters, Janice Lamb Schoff (John) of Wilmington, DE

& Rita Lamb Thompson (Bill) of Chadds Ford, PA, her “adopted” daughter Kelle Munoz (Bob) of Wilmington, DE, and her seven

Grandchildren and seven Great-Grandchildren.

Louann loved to host family gatherings in her younger days and always volunteered to make ready-to-cook meals for bereaving families in her neighborhood or church. She was a wonderful cook and we will remember her every time we have sausage gravy and biscuits, butterscotch haystacks, butternut cake, chocolate meringue or lemon meringue pie, peach cobbler, sausage balls (as she would say: saw-seeg-bawls), and butter peas and cornbread.

Louann was a crafty gal, always making something. She painted woodcrafts, made Christmas ornaments, and enjoyed crocheting baby blankets for hospitals and caps for service men and women overseas, as well as teaching quilting to her neighbors. Louann was also an avid gardener and could often be found rooting plants she swiped from a nearby garden center. If she couldn’t make it grow, it

didn’t want to live. Most recently she enjoyed arranging the flowers for her Harbor Chase family.

Private burial will be held in Atlanta on Monday, January 8th at Westview Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held in Atlanta in April for family and friends, location and date to be determined.
