Malcolm David Jones

Malcolm David Jones, age 79, of Austell, Georgia, passed away on March 12, 2024. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Ann Jones, his sister Ada Jones, and his parents Sarah and Samuel Jones.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Cindy (Dell) Lott of Austell, GA, and his devoted son, Mark (Cassandra) Jones of Douglasville, GA. He is also survived by his brothers Michael (Loretta) Jones of Illinois and Mack (Margaret) Jones of Canon, GA.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Malcolm was affectionately known as "the old man." He dedicated 33 years of service as a Pressman for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution before retiring. Malcolm found solace in watching birds from his porch and nurturing his flowers. A passionate supporter of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Atlanta Braves, he also had a fondness for cars and enjoyed a cold Coca-Cola on hot days.

Malcolm will be remembered as a devoted father, husband, and provider for his family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday March 16, 2024 at Roy Davis Funeral Home 5935 Mulberry St, Austell, Ga. 30168 from 11am-1pm. A graveside service will be held at 1:30pm right after at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, 11261 Veterans Memorial Highway, Douglasville, Ga. 30134.
