Sister Lillian Jackson Hawkins was born on February 16, 1942 in Canton, Mississippi to the parents of K.C. and Reve Lee Jackson (who has precede her in death).She was the fifth child of fourteen children.In time, she met Roy Hawkins and they shared 48 years of marriage together and had two sons.Lillian was known for being a very kind, hard working, and exceptionally smart woman.For 25 years, Lillian worked as a Lab Technician (Phlebotomist) at the John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Illinois. Lillian genuinely loved people.She was always tender and compassionate; she loved caring for her family and the needs of others.Most of all, she had a deep love for her God Jehovah.She dedicated her life to him and was baptized on June 26, 1973.Both Lillian and Roy have touched hundreds of lives with the Kingdom message as they faithfully served together as Jehovah's Witnesses. Sister Baby, her family nickname, was an incredible person.She was always so comforting and encouraging.A wonderful spiritual example (Galatians 5:22).Lillian Hawkins will truly be missed by all of her family and friends who loved her so much. Lillian sincerely believed in the resurrection hope and in the fulfillment of Jesus words in John 5:28-29, "Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear Christ's voice and come out..to a resurrection of life." On Monday evening, July 17, 2017, Lillian Hawkins fell asleep in death.In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her brother Eddie Jackson and her brother Joseph Johnson.Lillian is survived by her loving husband, Roy Lee Hawkins; sons, Tyrell Hawkins, of Jackson,MS, Kevin Hawkins (Marcie) of Anaheim, CA; seven grandchildren: Jonathan Blackwell, Jemiah Hawkins, Jarrell Hawkins, Javonte Hawkins, Noah Hawkins, Natalie Hawkins, Nadia Hawkins; siblings: Ruth Grant of Kankakee, IL, Benjamin (Eloise) Jackson of Jackson, MS, Mildred (Eddie Hawkins of Aurora, IL, Lloyd Jackson of Baltimore, MD, Cecil (Betty) Jackson of Kankakee, IL, Theodore Jackson of Jackson, MS, John (Ruby Jean) Jackson of Canton, MS, Vera Lee of Oak Park, IL; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 26th from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon.Funeral Service will begin at Noon with Brother Sendoll Blenman officiating.
