Judy Kay Harrison

Judy Kay Garland Harrison, 70, of Austell, Ga passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020.She was a former long time resident of Douglasville, Ga. She was born to Elinor Appel in Nuremberg, Germany on December 21, 1949. Post World War II conditions warranted the need for Mrs. Harrison to be placed in an orphanage where she was adopted from Army Sgt. JC and Mable Garland.She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ronald W. Harrison, Sr. and both her biological and adoptive parents. Judy retiredfrom 18 years of service at Georgia Tech as an Administrative Assistant III.She adored her grandchildren.They were each "secretly" her favorite. She loved spending time in her yard both gardening and decorating for the holidays.She was an avid reader, and loved to shop. Judy is survived by her children, Joanie and Don Camden, and Ron Harrison, Jr. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Nichole and Matt Taylor, Amanda and Jason Brown, Kaleb Harrison, Corrie Camden, Mattie Harrison, Sarah Beth Harrison, and Preston Harrison. Two great grandchildren: Trystan and Peyton Harrison; and several nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed. She will be laid to rest at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
