Joyce Ann Covington

Joyce Ann Covington went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2021, following chronic and ongoing health issues at the age of 71. Joyce was born April 5th, 1949 in Atlanta, GA to Giles Alvin Meeks and Maime Louise Bourne. She was married to Charles Covington for 53 years and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sandra Atkins. She is survived by her husband Charles Covington.; her children, Chuck Covington, Tracy Covington Cassell, and Christopher Covington and his wife Emily; and her grandchildren, Robert Cassell, Micah Callahan, Chad Covington, Kendal Covington, Jacob Covington, and Lucas Covington. She was everything to all of her family! She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and a friend. She was a nurse, healer, a peace maker, planner, and the glue of her family. Joyce was a licensed cosmetologist and registered nurse at Wellstar Paulding Hospital for 29 years until her retirement. She was an avid foodie and loved her crochet. She also found great joy in her vocation and her grandchildren. Joyce was part of the Three Musketeers with her dear friends Amy Allred and Brenda Bell and her beloved Sally was her steadfast companion, friend, and dog. She enjoyed fishing but always made her husband, Charles, bait the hook. Joyce also enjoyedtraveling. Her travels included Germany, the Grand Canyon, and France. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
