Joseph Foster

Mr. Joseph F. (Buddy) Foster, 89 of Marietta, GA. passed away on October 16, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Norma, of 64 years; his daughter, Joanne Brock, Alpharetta; son, Kenneth J. Foster, Marietta; 7 grandchildren: Michael A. Blanchard, Lawrenceville; Kevin D. Blanchard, Lawrenceville; Jonathan S. Blanchard, wife Nathalie, Atlanta; Melissa J. Blanchard, Acworth; Amy N. Cazier, Atlanta; Lauryn T. Foster, Milledgeville; Maggie N. Foster, Kiln, MS.; his sister Carolyn Bowman, Cumming; and 2 great-grandchildren, Millie Blanchard and Skylar Blanchard. Joe was a member of Brookhaven Baptist Church. He was a Lieutenant and Arson Investigator with the Dekalb County Fire Department and retired after 26 years of service. He, also, was a member of both the Yaarab Shrine of Atlanta and Masonic Lodge 444 in Chamblee. He serviced his country in WWII and was a member of the WWII round table. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm on Tuesday October 19, 2010 at Roy Davis Funeral Home in Austell before a graveside service at 1:00 pm from Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery, Villa Rica, GA. Dr. Jim Coldiron officiating. The Georgia State Fire Department color guard will present the colors at the request of his nephew, Forsyth County Fire Chief Danny Bowman.
