Johnny Madison Smith

Johnny Smith, 84 of Lithia Springs, died Thursday, March 5, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 62 year Edna Smith; son, Richard (Anna) Smith of Douglasville; daughter, Linda Robertson of Kennesaw; grandchildren, Robin (Arnie) Correll of Bishop, GA and Carl Smith, Jr. of San Francisco, CA; great grandchildren, Madison Correll and Jackson Correll, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Smith worked for Simmons Mattress Company for 46 years. He was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm Friday at Roy Davis Funeral Home in Austell. The funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Terry Marbut officiating. Interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 6458 Spring Street, Suite 100, Douglasville, GA 30134.
