John Lee Smith

John Lee Smith, age 79 passed away surrounded with his family on July 19th, 2019 in Cobb County, GA. He was born on March 27th, 1940 in Douglas County, GA the son of the late Aaron Bland Smith and the late Queenie Bell Boyd Smith. He served in the Army from 1965 till 1969. Before and after the Army, he worked as a carpenter for over 50 years. He was Baptist of faith. He is survived by his sister DeLores Q. Smith Anderson, stepson Tracy Broemel, stepdaughter Wanda Gail Queen Smith, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Bone Smith, sisters Jeraldine Smith Brittain, Betty Ann Smith McBurnett, brothers Carol Bland Smith and Floyd Van Smith. Per John's wishes, he was cremated. A Celebration of Life memorial will be held on August 10th, 2019 at 2pm at Union Grove Baptist Church in Lithia Springs. Interment will follow at the Memorial Gardens at Union Grove Baptist Church.
