John R Corbitt

Mr. John Richard Corbitt, 73, of Locust Grove, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Piedmont Henry Hospital. John was born June 8, 1945 in Dalton, Georgia, son of the late James Francis Corbitt and Marguerite Coreen Stocker Corbitt. He never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. He loved calculators and had a collection of over 75 unique calculators. John was a truck driver and even after his retirement loved to “just drive”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bass Corbitt. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Liz Corbitt; a daughter, Candice Cooke; grandson, Matthew Cooke; a sister, Sally C. Hackney; a brother, Roy Bigam; and several nieces and nephews. The family will gather to receive friends at Roy Davis Funeral Home at 12 noon on Saturday, December 1, 2018. The celebration of life will begin at 1 p.m. in the Chapel with military honors and a reception will immediately follow the service.
