Joan Schumacher

Mrs. Joan Schumacher, age 95, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on September 9, 2016.Mrs. Schumacher was born in Limerick, Ireland in 1921 to the late Patrick & Nora Hurley.Mrs. Schumacher was known as a devout Catholic, a devoted wife and mother and a doting grandmother.She enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting & crochet, watching Judge Judy, riding her three-wheel bicycle, and outings with her friends from the Senior Center.She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Schumacher; daughter, Janet Weis; son, Richard Schumacher; and, infant son, Paul Schumacher.She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her children: Ernest (Joyce) Schumacher, Peter (Barbara) Schumacher, Anne (Robert) McSpedon, Joan Jewell, Ariella Alandra & Peter Berney, Anthony (Celeste) Schumacher, and Rita VanDonselaar; son-in-law, Henry Weis; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family invites you to join them for a Celebration of Joan’s Life, on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1:30pm at the Catholic Church of the Transfiguration on Blackwell Road in Marietta, Georgia. Mrs. Schumacher was a long-time contributor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
