Joan Carole Merck

Joan Carole Merck, 77 of Mableton, passed away surrounded by her family at her home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. She is survived by her son and daughter, Randy Walker of Mableton and Ginger (David) Morrow of Douglasville; stepsons, Greg Merck, Don Merck and Scott Merck, all of Douglasville; brothers and sisters, F.D. (Mary Jo) Quinn, Jr., of Winston, Susan (Phillip) Beard of Atlanta, Loretta West of Douglasville and Tommy Quinn of Atlanta; grandchildren, Adam Morrow and Beejay Morrow, both of Douglasville, and 12 step-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, Fonney Dillard Quinn and Mary Louise Quinn; husband, John David Merck; grandson, David Morrow, Jr.; stepson, David Lee Merck, and sisters, Emily Harrell, Bobbie Quallich and Joyce Harris. Mrs. Merck was very kindhearted, loved her family and was “the best mom ever.” She loved her customers and doing hair during her many years as a beautician.She loved the wildlife around her house, from the squirrels and other small animals to the birds at the bird houses in her yard. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Georgia Memorial Park. Those wishing to follow in procession should be at Roy Davis Funeral Home at 1:00 pm Tuesday.
