Janice Joann Stewart

Janice “Joann” Stewart, aged 84, of Austell, Georgia, peacefully passed away on March 19, 2024. Born on August 13, 1939, she was the beloved daughter of Simon J. and Odell Henry Dobson. Joann was preceded in death by her loving son, Jason Stancil, her husband Doug Stewart and twin daughters Laura Doreen and Angela Darlene. She is survived by her children, Bob Stancil, Greg Stancil, Sandra Bearden, Tim Stancil, and Mike Stancil, as well as her devoted sisters, Joyce Dickerson and Marlene Bruce. Joann also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Joann dedicated her career to photography, working for Olan Mills, where her passion for capturing moments turned every family occasion into a memorable photo shoot. Beyond her talents behind the camera, she was known for her soulful gospel singing and her piano playing, bringing joy to all who had the pleasure of hearing her music.

Joann’s warm and caring nature touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, knowing her legacy of love and kindness lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
