James Dennis Mitchell

James Dennis Mitchell was born in Marietta, GA on December 9, 1960 to the late James “Mitch” & Joyce Mitchell.He died at his home on Tuesday, January 11, 2011.He was married to Terri Doster on November 16, 1979.Dennis leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Terri, his daughter Kelli Denise Sterling (30 yrs.), and his sons Kevin Hayes Mitchell (23 yrs.), Kyle Logan Mitchell (20 yrs.), his beloved grandchildren Teagan (7 yrs), Cason (5 yrs.) and Bailey (2 yrs.), his sister, Connie Thomas and his brother Eric Mitchell.He is also survived by two Uncles, Van Mitchell and Hubert Brown and one Aunt, Jerlene Barnes, nieces & nephews – Jeremy, Jordan, Jessica, Hollie, Abbi, Kim, Ivy, John, Joseph, Josh and Matthew, Grandnieces & nephews – Kenny, Audrey, Daniel, Sophia and Grayson Dennis and Terri worked together in their heating and air business for the last ten years.Dennis went out of his way to help his customers.He couldn’t bear the thought of someone being without heat on a cold night.His last service call was on Monday night of the ice storm, the night before he died. Besides his family his 1st love was watching his hero, Dale Earnhardt, race.He was at the race the day Dale Earnhardt wrecked and died at the Daytona 500.Dennis’ family will travel to Daytona International Speedway in the next few months to spread his ashes on the 3rd turn of the race track. Visitation and viewing will be on Sunday, January 16th from 2 to 3:00 for the family and open visitation from 3 to 7:00 at the Roy Davis Funeral Home in Austell, Georgia.A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 17th at 2:00 at the Fellowship Christian Church on Beech Haven Trail in Smyrna, Georgia.Family and friends will gather at the home of Dwayne & Kathy Graham following the memorial service.
