James Olin "J.O." Leggette

James Olin "J.O." Leggette Sr., age 88 of Lithia Springs, died Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Powder Springs Transitional Nursing and Rehab.A native of Lake Wales, Florida, James Olin Leggett Sr. was born on June 15, 1927 to the late Olin and Irene Leggette.He was a United States Army Veteran, serving in both the WWII and Korean Wars; upon returning from duty, he served as a law enforcement officer with Cobb County Police Department for over 30 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Claudia Hayes Leggette; daughter, Donna Leggette, son, James Olin Leggette Jr.; stepchildren, Kathy Barton, Kim Sullivan, Joan McClure, Michael Mendes; 16 grandchildren/great grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 1:00 pm, Sunday, August 30th at Calvary Baptist Church in Austell with Rev. Chris Humphries officiating.A private burial of his cremains will be held at a later time at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
