James Sheldon Sanders, Sr., 58 of Hiram, passed away December 23, 2020. He was born in Atlanta on November 5, 1962, the son of William and Joyce Sanders. He is survived by his lady friend and best friend, Diana Singh of Hiram; son and daughter-in-law, Sheldon & Jennifer Sanders of Griffin; Diana’s children who were like his own, Ashley Reynolds and Christopher Benschoter, both of Hiram; brothers, Tom Davis, Jr. and Ronnie Sanders, both of Jonesboro; cousins, John Parrott of Griffin and Patricia Figures of East Point, and his cats, Boyce and Ash. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sanders; son, Jonathan Ross Sanders, and his parents. A hard worker all his life, James was always willing to help any way he could. He was selfless and cared about everybody. He was a good man with a personality that would draw you in, was extremely happy. He could light up a room when he walked in saying “Hey Jack” and always had a joke to tell. He loved to cook, enjoyed fishing and was a big Georgia Bulldogs fan. He loved being with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. According to his wishes, James will be cremated and a private celebration of his life will be held.
