Edith Irene Lindsey 86, of Temple died Wednesday, October 31st surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Lindsey was a devoted member of South Cobb Church of Christ. Besides shopping, Mrs. Lindsey enjoyed traveling. Her favorite place to visit was Florida. Irene was known by many as "The Master Biscuit-Maker" and was commonly described as a "Biscuit Exraordinaire" because of her perfect hand-made biscuits admired by people across the state of Georgia. Mrs. Lindsey was preceded in death by Husbands William Bruce Taylor and Frank J. Lindsey; Daughter, Donna Lynn; Sister, Virginia Spivey, Brother, Virgil Holcombe; Parents, Virgil Mayo Holcombe and Rachel Edith Roberts. She is survived by her Children Jeannie King (Don), Bruce Taylor, Tim Taylor (Susan), Cindy Hulsey (Randy) and Robin Durrett as well as 19 grandchildren, 26 great-granchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6pm to 8pm at Roy Davis Funeral Home. Mrs. Lindsey will lie in state from 1pm to 2pm Saturday at South Cobb Church of Christ in Mableton followed by the funeral service at 2pm. Interment will be held at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
