In Loving Memory of Heriberto Enrique Rodriguez, Jr.
In the quiet of the night surrounded by love, Heriberto peacefully passed away on
May 14, 2024. His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound. It is gravely
felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him. His legacy lives on
through the memories that he created, the laughter he shared and the love he gave.
Heriberto was born on September 3, 1960, in Havana, Cuba, to the late Heriberto
Enrique Rodriguez, Sr. and the late Esther Rodriguez. At the age of three, he
migrated with his parents to the United States, settling in Miami, Florida. His love
for sports and music blossomed during his school years. With the support of his
parents, he began playing the drums in Junior High School and was also a key player
on the Junior High football team. His favorite football teams were the Miami
Hurricanes & Miami Dolphins.
One of Heriberto biggest passions in life was music. After graduating from high
school, Heriberto embarked on an exciting musical journey. He toured with his band,
“The Leopards,” as a drummer and even had the honor of opening for “The
Romantics.” His love for music was infectious, touching the hearts of everyone who
heard him play.
Heriberto’s career took him to new horizons. He joined Home Depot and eventually
found himself in the vibrant city of Atlanta, Georgia. His dedication and hard work
led him to a fulfilling role as an Operations Supervisor at UPS, where he spent 25
years making a difference.
Heriberto cherished his family above all else. His sons Joey and Jessie shared his love
for fishing. They spent countless hours together on his boat. Heriberto and his wife
Ariel welcomed their son Enrique on November 29, 2015. Heriberto spent his days
being a hands-on daddy to Enrique. They shared an unbreakable bond. His love for
his sons and his wife was unwavering. Heriberto and Ariel loved to travel. They took
trips to Miami to visit his beloved mother. They also traveled to the west coast to
explore that part of the country. Their time together was precious. They were
inseparable. Heriberto’s heart was full of love.
Heriberto is survived by his wife Ariel; three sons, Joey, Jesse, and Enrique; Heriberto
leaves behind cherished memories with his sisters, Esther, and Julia. His
granddaughter, Megan who brought immense joy to his life. His Aunt Rose; His
mother-n-law Alicia (Vernon); His father-in-law Christopher; Sister-n-law Alyah
(David); Sister-n-law Ashley (Michael); His brother-n-law Christopher, Jr.(Brittany);
several nieces, nephews, and countless friends and family members also mourn his
passing.
