Halis Tufan

Halis Tufan age 63, of Douglasville, passed away on November, 18, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Debra; daughters, Holly and Emily; sister, Sale Ucuz and brothers, Haluk, Nuri and Mutlu. He is preceded in death by his parents, Durmus and Aysen. Mr. Tufan was a professional soccer player in Turkey and the Netherlands before moving to the United States in 1981. At the age of 34 he married the love of his life in 1992 and was blessed with 31 years of marriage. Mr. Tufan was a loving husband and father, business owner and a Douglas County soccer coach. He loved spending time with his family, taking Holly and Emily out to observe the stars and space, having friends over for NASCAR and football games, educating himself on philosophy and playing chess. Mr. Tufan's love of NASCAR even went as far as turning an old school bus into a NASCAR motorhome. He was a well rounded man who touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held December 3, 2022 from 1-6 pm at the Tufan residence.
