Evelyn Mccann Harris

Evelyn McCann Harris passed away September 21, 2024 at the age of 86 in Atlanta Georgia.  She was born November 16, 1937 in Hines FL.  She began and completed her educational journey through the Dixie County Public School System.  She and her husband Charles Harris were married for 42 years. During their marriage she and her husband owned and operated a jewelry and watch repair business for over 25 years in the Dixie and Levy County area.  She was also active in her community and started a breast cancer support group, called the Tri-County Cancer Support Group Inc. in Levy County FL.  Evelyn relocated to Atlanta Georgia in 2007 after the death of her husband.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles E Harris Sr, daughter Veronica Bennet, and her parents Jerry and Lucy Lee McCann .

She is survived by 6 children Yvonne Murray, Appie Alexander (Willie), and Darcy L. Harris ; Charles E. Harris Jr, Kenneth L. Harris, Therma Harris; 16, grandchildren and 15 great grands

She is also survived by 9 siblings- Margaret Buie (James-deceased), Jerry D McCann (Arlette), Jackie Bradley (Roy -deceased), Geraldine Butler, Larry McCann (Dot), Lafrench Miller, Tyrone McCann, Wendell McCann, and Donald McCann. 21 nieces and nephews and a host of grand nieces and nephews .

A Memorial service will be held for Mrs. Evelyn McCann Harris on Oct 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life with family and friends.
