Ed Williamson, 69 of Rockmart, passed away at home on Monday, March 8, 2021. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Candice & Michael Mullins of Rockmart and Christie & Brett Jones of Dallas; grandsons, Myles Tatum of Queensbury, NY, Landen Mullins and Lawson Mullins, both of Rockmart; aunt and uncle, Nancy & Owen Russell of Douglasville, best friend for more than 50 years, Lynn Gilam of Cedartown, and brother, Thomas Williamson of Powder Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Betty Williamson, and brother, Wayne Williamson. Born in Atlanta, Ed retired from General Motors. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed watching old TV shows, especially Columbo and Andy Griffith; loved the music of Fleetwood Mac and Jimmy Buffett; and was a NASCAR fan in the Dale Earnhardt days. He liked to watch the Little League World Series every year, but the sports he enjoyed most were coaching his daughters’ softball teams and watching his grandsons play ball. Ed was the absolute best Daddy and Paw Paw. He really loved spoiling his daughters, but his number one favorite thing was spoiling the grandboys. He loved spending time with his family, cooking out, and playing with his granddog, Gracie.He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm Friday, March 12, at Roy Davis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, March 13 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville.
