Dorothy "Dot" Lee Newton, 81, of Atlanta, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016.She was born in Atlanta, GA on January 9, 1935 the daughter of the late Lee Henson and the late Josie Lucille Henson. Dorothy was a hard working woman who loved her family and her children.She worked at Davis Brothers Cafeteria where she enjoyed serving others.She was also employed at Georgia Art, where she would gold leaf picture frames. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 18 years, Allen Lawrence Newton; daughter Wanda Faye Hannah, brothers: Carl Henson, Charles Henson, Robert Henson; sisters: Ruby Waldrop, Mattie Coronett, Christine Turpin. Great grandchildren: Bryanna Cox, Alayna Cox. She is survived by son, Johnny Hannah of Atlanta and daughter Connie Lee O'Neal of Rockmart, sister: Barbara Clayton of Bartow; grandchildren: Lisa Youngblood and husband Jamie of Dallas, A. Tracey O'Neal of Forsyth, April Cox and husband Doney of Dallas: great grandchildren; Allison O'Neal, B.J. Wright, Mason Hurst, Cody Wright, Brianna O'Neal, Cason O'Neal, Callista O'Neal, Alexandra Cox, Sydney Youngblood, Austin Cox, Avery Cox and Ashton Cox; great-great grandson Jeremiah Nails-Lerrimore, several nieces and nephews.True Gospel Baptist Church, 5820 Maxham Rd, Austell will be providing a meal after the service.
