Doris R. Long

Doris R. Long 82 passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, surrounded by her family following a valiant battle with cancer. She was born in Austell, Georgia on August 17, 1941, to the late Benjamin and Alice Reece.

Doris retired after 22 years of service as an administrator for the Internal Revenue Service.

Doris loved to square dance and had many beautiful square-dancing dresses. She was active in a few social groups after retirement and enjoyed watching football, Kansas City Chiefs were one of her favorite teams. She also enjoyed watching Law and Order. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, who loved her and will miss her greatly.

Doris is survived by her son Everett Long and his wife Jill, her 3 grandchildren: Clint Long, Brandon Welch (Erica) and Bridgette Luckey (Chris). She has 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, as well as a sister Lucille Harden (Ben), and several nieces and nephews.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Clara June Reece.
