It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our friend, mother and “NANA”, Doris S. Bolton. Mrs. Doris S. Bolton passed away peacefully March 16, 2019 at the age of 88 in Calhoun, GA. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Henry “E.H.” Bolton Jr.; parents, Harry and Blanche Smith and brother, Frank Smith and great grandson, Jeffrey Bryce Bolton. She is survived by her children, Connie (Charles) Mauro, Ken (Nancy) Bolton, Joy Priester, Jeff (Lynn) Bolton; sisters, Carolyn Norton and Peggy (Derrill) Shivers; grandchildren, Wes (Jana) Walker, Wendy (Myron) Woods, Stacy Bolton, Kristy (Michael) Moede, Brian (Destin) Priester, Alissa (Jeff) Bowden, Jay (Tiffany) Bolton, Lindsay Bolton, Stacy Graff, Terri Huggins, Vinnie Mauro and Anthony Mauro and 21 great grandchildren. Mrs. Bolton was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She worked as a church secretary at Orange Hill Baptist Church then moved on to Cobb Radiology Associates for 25 years before retiring. She went back to work, this time for the Wellstar Cobb Hospital before retiring again and volunteering with the hospital for 13 years. She served as a visitation assistant at Roy Davis Funeral Home for 13 years and White Columns Chapel for nearly 3 years. She was affectionately referred to as the “Queen of Austell”. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 3-5pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church Wednesday at 11am with Rev. Chris Humphries officiating. Mrs. Bolton’s body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, Autismspeaks.org or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
