Don Akins

Don Akins, 79 of Mableton, passed away October 17, 2019, at WellStar Cobb Hospital. He was born in Metter, Georgia on August 16, 1940, the son of Johnny and Elizabeth Akins. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Akins of Mableton; daughter and son-in-law VIctoria Sullivan and Mark Kennedy of Powder Springs; son Michael Akins of Woodstock, and granddog Mr. Cooper. Mr. Akins was a postmaster and retired after 30 years with the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed time with his family and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, October 21, 2019, at Roy Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour before the service.
