Dewey Willbon McKee, Sr., 83 of Mableton, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021, at his home, with his family by his side. He was born in Clanton, Alabama on January 4, 1938, the son of Dewey Arseal McKee and Hazel Irene Murphy McKee. Mr. McKee is survived by his son, Dewey Willbon McKee, Jr.; daughter, Shelby Jean McKee Windom; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Melissa McKee Eady, brothers, Jerry McKee, Jimmy McKee, Lonnie McKee and Eddy McKee, and his wife, Audrey Fay Billings McKee. SMSGT McKee retired from the United States Air Force. He was a Viet Nam Veteran and was rewarded the Bronze Star. He was an aircraft mechanic and served two presidents while stationed at Andrews Air Force Base. His assignment included the president’s plane and the first ACCS Nightwatch. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 12, at Mozley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Roy Davis Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm before the procession to the cemetery.
