Dean Perkerson

Dean Perkerson, age 90 of Clarkdale, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009. She is survived by her children, Gary and wife Beth Perkerson, Douglas Perkerson and Kathy Perkerson; daughter-in-law, Jerry Perkerson; sisters Ruth Johnson and Jean and husband Bill Green; grandchildren, Tamy and husband Keith Lovins, Brad, Cindy, Joseph and wife Mary, David, Chris, Amanda, Jake and Ty Perkerson; 5 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Perkerson; son, Tommy Perkerson; grandson, Chad Perkerson and daughter-in-law, Sharon Perkerson. Mrs. Perkerson was a longtime employee of H&R Block. She worked with the Boy and Girl Scouts and Brownies, and was devoted to her family. Dean enjoyed taking the trolley to the High Museum for art lessons when she was a girl, and was valedictorian of her high school graduating class. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Roy Davis Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 3, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Perkerson Family Cemetery.
