David L. Byrd

David L. Byrd 81 of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away on March 23, 2021. He is survived by his son Raymond Byrd. He was preceded in death by his wife of 19 years Geneva Byrd, and a son William David Byrd. David was born in Elkin, North Carolina but has been all over the world. He spent 20 years as commanding officer in the U.S. Marines. He also finished 19 years in the Army as a Sergeant Major, he graduated as Gunnery Sergeant, and spent time as an aviation technician. Davis worked at Lockheed Martin in South Carolina and in Marietta, Georgia. Retiring from all positions with great honors. David lived everyday for God and praying for all who crossed his path. He always wanted to be the best Christian he could be, so much so that when he and Raymond would go out to eat, he would give the waitress/waiter a twenty-dollar bill and ask them to put it on some one else’s bill, just to remind people that there are a few good people left in the world. Dad was such a funny character; he would walk around with his chest out singing: “Oh Lord it’s hard to humble….. when you’re perfect in every way… I can’t wait to look in the mirror…. I get better looking each day… To love me is to know me…. Cause I must be one heck of a man.” Then he would look over at me and just grin. David loved watching the weather channel, CNN, and listening to music. Some of his favorite artists are George Jones, Vince Gill, Reba, The Eagles and Mike and the Mechanics. Gone but never forgotten, you will always be in our hearts and missed dearly. Daddy-O it was never good-bye, it was always, see you later. Heaven’s new angel, I love you daddy. Bandit and Bucko
