Connie Dean Houze

April 21, 1963 — December 2, 2020

Connie Dean Houze, 57 of Mableton, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2020. She was born April 21, 1963 in Austell, the daughter of Norman “Puddin” Dean and Gladys “Peanut” Dean. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Forrest Houze; sons, Jeff (Michelle Wright) Houze of Dallas and Brandon (Kristine) Houze of Mableton; daughter, Morgan Houze of Mableton; grandchildren, Bryson Houze and Kyleigh Houze, both of Mableton; sister, Prissy Dutton of Mableton; brother, Freddie (Shellye) Harris of Dallas, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Wayne Dean and Bossy Dean. Connie was a graduate of South Cobb High School and a lifelong resident of the Austell-Mableton area. She worked as an inside sales representative at Kraus and Naimer. She was an outstanding tennis player and had been a member of over 80 teams, serving as captain many times. She loved her team members on the Sweetwater Tennis team. She bowled competitively locally and nationally. For many years you could find her at the bowling alley on Friday and Saturday nights. She was a Sports Mom and Grandmother and rarely missed anyone’s games. There were so many things that Connie enjoyed; going to the beach or on cruises and playing slot machines while she was there; family dinners, birthdays, Christmas and other holidays; buying presents and taking care of everybody else. Family was the most important thing in Connie’s life. She loved with a big heart and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm Friday, December 4, and 12 to 4 pm Saturday, December 5, at Roy Davis Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 pm Sunday, December 6, followed by burial at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
